I’m almost done with the room of the pastor in my church. It is not a major makeover, so the budget isn’t big enough for me to stretch my idea, but, with the help of many friends and donations, the room looks like a “room” now.
I want to share “before” pictures and a sneak peek “after” picture today before I post more “after” pictures. The next post will have many ” during the process” and “after” pictures. I will post it in three weeks because I’m traveling to Korea in a few days. I’ll share my travel pictures in Korea as well if I have time to grab my camera and take pictures during the busily planned two weeks. Just two weeks to visit after 10 years! I need to spin my bike like a warrior.
Anyway, here are before pictures of the room.
Around the table.
Beside the whiteboard of the picture above.
Bookshelves. Most of the books were not in use, so they had to go.
The view from the door.
The wall that is adjacent to the bookshelf wall.
A bigger picture for your better understanding. I loved the bronze finish heavy desk lighting. It was the only aspect I liked about this room.
The wall adjacent to the wall above. Two windows of the room were very old and not efficient, but no budget to replace them.
And the wall adjacent to the window above. There is a storage space with a door behind this wall.
Between the door and the storage.
Old and dirty whiteboard. The plastic baseboard on the bottom is falling off as well.
Small white mirror. I might reuse this after I clean and paint it. You can see the storage space through the mirror.
- Ginormous ceiling light. Looked ridiculous and unbalanced in such a small room.
I guess this light was a replacement for the huge light. I am still unsatisfied with the lighting.
We decided to declutter the room first and started take out all the furniture and other old stuff. It took more than 2 hours for 7 people to do it.
Can’t believe all this clutter came from this small room. 90% of them was junk. Just with the cleaning of the room, it looked much brighter, roomy and more livable.
This is my first rough sketch of the room which is way different than how it looks now.
Now this an “after” picture to sneak peek until the next post which will be up after 3 weeks.
